i've been clicking the 'create' for the past few days but when the blanks space shows, i just can't think of anything to write.
grr.
first week in beda. actually it has been just three days because of the slow enrollment problem, i mean proccess, beda had me going through.
the first two paragraphs that you've just read was written seven days ago. that's a major bummer. anyway, i really have to catch up with my posts.
yesterday, artistang artlets (the official theater guild of the faculty of arts and lettets of the university of santo tomas) held its auditions for aspiring applicants. around 60 or so came, including krizzy, someone who joined starstruck before.
i remember how nervous i was when i was the one who were in their places. last year lang yun. and now i am the one grading them.
the auditions had many parts. here are the highlights.
creative intro
applicants must introduce themselves creatively, yung tipong matatandaan namin sila agad. haha, i remember what i did last year. humiga ako flat on my back and sang 'fallin' by alicia keys. haha. wierdo.
so there they were, the applicants. i saw the usual question mark on their faces. the same question mark i wore last year.
at first, no one really did anything creative. they just stood there and told us who they were. duh? san yung creative dun?
eventually they got the idea.
drumroll.
showdown.
ofcourse we members wouldn't give the spotlight to the applicants alone. like last year, tinapatan ng members ang mga intro ng mga applicants.
dancer. there was this girl who wanted to show how good she is in dancing. enter angge, who effortlessly showed her who was better. walang kahira-hirap, angge did what the applicant was trying to do (e.g. touch her head with her feet) with ease. pati si avery nag bending nang walang kalaban laban. winner: angge and avery.
singing. through the fire? one girl tried to sing her lungs out. i prodded seh to tell her who's boss, so she did. when seh stood up and sang, the applicant tried to fight back by singing a higher part. seh sang the highest part without any effort. winner: seh.
choir songs. one girl tried to sing a choral piece. enter me and avery. haha. blended a russian song that we learned last year. winner: us.
acting. girlfriend vs. boyfriend. girlfriend, applicant. boyfriend, gabso. winner: boyfriend.
haha. it was fun.
specialization
the applicants were divided into their chosen aspects. acting, production management, directing, technicals, script writing, and production design. and as i am wearing an ID with production design written below my name, i am assuming that i will be teaching prod design.
actually, acting talaga ang ipinasa ko sa artistang artlets, eh kumusta naman ang twice kong costumes staff? malamang nyan sa prod design na nga ako ilagay.
ayon, project runway all over the room. lecture muna then we let the applicants make a production proposal by showing us their stage concepts, the costumes and the make-up.
rainbow. one wizard with rainbow trails. enk. at weather control daw ang powers nya. major enk.
over external testicles. one wizard who looks like lotus feet with big red testicles on both of his sides. enk.
interview
the interview part was really important. dito malalaman kung ano talaga ang gustong mangyari ng mga applicants na ito.
kuya diego kept on telling me that i was a 'bitchirero', haha. maybe i am. one interviewee cried, and she's from taytay like me. haha. what would happen kaya pag palagi ko siyang makasabay pauwi. hmm.
all in all it, the auditions was successful. had a great time, and i hope the applicants did so to.
we stayed for a drinking session for a while at tapsi manila. had a bottle of booze and left.
